Courtney Olson

Postpartum Doula

Gentle Yoga Instructor

Prior to motherhood, I spent two decades nurturing plants and people alike, whether it was on an organic farm in Western Massachusetts with a 300 family CSA, or hundreds of patrons a night out to dinner at numerous Boston area restaurants. Now, calling on the traits and abilities I honed in those years daily in my routines at home with my own family. I am the mother of two boys, Chet, 3, and Otis, 1, and  happily married to my husband, Mike, of four years.

After relocating to West Ashley from Boston in 2015, I knew we would call this place Home for the long haul. The community I have been welcomed into here has inspired me to hear the call to become a gentle yoga teacher and postpartum doula. Becoming a founding member of Supporting West Ashley only deepens my commitment to the place I call home.

My journey toward becoming a postpartum doula and gentle yoga teacher was born out of my desire to diversify the ways in which I apply my maternal nature. As I gather decades of knowledge and experience in my varied career paths, and now motherhood, I eagerly transform it into the service of others, whether its caring for my students or a mother welcoming a new life into the world.

As a postpartum doula, I look to nurture moms and the rest of the family with my abilities to know the needs of others before they do, my love of cooking and my mellow nature. As I continue toward my DONA certification, I am taking on new families on a limited basis.
